Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering (RGCE) commenced its educational program in 2001 with three branches viz; ECE, CSE and It on a vast expanse of 30 acres of land in Sriperumbudur, Tamilnadu with the approval from AICTE and affiliation from Anna University, Chennai.

RGCE is the first self financing college in Tamilnadu to introduce BE (Biomedical Engineering) in the year 2002 and the first in introducing B.Tech (Petroleum Engineering) in South India, with technical support from ONGC and Aban Offshore Ltd.

CHAIRMAN
Rev. Dr. Kurian Thomas M.A. (SW), Ph.D (USA), is a well known personality in the field of social work. He is the Founder and President of Asha Nivas Social Service Centre and Madras Institute of Labour Consultancy. He has a doctorate in Social Sciences from University of East Georgia (USA) and a Masters Degree in Social Work. He has authored many books and has served as member in many committees and presented papers in many seminars both national and international.

GENERAL SECRETARY
Shri. Jacob George, General Secretary is a dynamic personality committed to development of education and is actively associated with many social services. An industrialist of repute by profession with global connections, hehas established industries in South America, Laos, the African subcontinent & the Andaman Nicobar islands. He is actively involved in Church activities and as an individual, he is well known for his philanthropic attitude. As General Secretary of the Gulf Returnees Educational Society, promoted by a group of NRI’s, commited to the cause of higher education in india, Shri.Jacob George, with his international exposure and experience, envisages a larger vision and mission of making Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering as an Institution of Educational Excellence.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Shri. George Jacob, CEO of Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering is a Lawyer by Profession. He did his graduation from School of Excellence In Law, Ambedkar Law University, Chennai and his Post Graduation in International Business Law from University of Aberdeen, Scotland. He has also completed a course in International Business from London School of Economics UK,after which he practiced in Madras High Court specializing in Banking Law. As CEO, he is committed to up gradation of the institution to governance par excellence and to bring in Technological Revolution among students.

PRINCIPAL
Dr. Arokyraj.U is the Principal of RGCE. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering and has dual Post Graduation in Electronics from IISC, Bangalore and in Computer Science from JNTU, Hyderabad. Prof. ArokyrajU has an MBA from Osmania University and has done his Doctorate in the area of development of power plant simulator using microprocessor from Osmania University, Hyderabad.

Prof. ArokyrajU has 35 years of experience - 21 years in Industry, 8 years of Research (EX-R&D, BHEL) and 7 years in Academics - and has spent his maximum tenure in Oil and Gas Co., Abudhabi, Petroleum Development Co., Oman and BHEL, Hyderabad prior to joining the academic stream.
